AERMOD / ISC

BREEZE AERMOD / ISC is a new generation air quality modeling system used to support both regulatory and non-regulatory modeling requirements worldwide.

This application is used to assess the impact of air emissions from a variety of industrial sources and includes enhanced versions of both the AERMOD (with PRIME building downwash utility) and ISC dispersion models.

EPA Releases Updates to AERMOD, AERMAP, and AERMET
EPA Version  07026 & BREEZE Version 6 Now Available

On January 18th, 2007, the U.S. EPA released an update to the AERMOD modeling systems (EPA version 06341). Bug fixes and enhancements were made to all Fortran programs that make up the AERMOD modeling system (AERMOD, AERMET, and AERMAP). During our review of code changes made by EPA, we discovered a serious error that prevents AERMOD from properly computing results under certain circumstances. This error and a proposed fix were reported to EPA. A subsequent EPA release was made on January 26th, 2007 (EPA version 07026) that corrected the reported bug along with a number of other issues discovered by EPA.

General
AERMOD ISC
AERMOD is a state-of-the-science dispersion modeling system that simulates essential atmospheric physical processes and provides refined concentration estimates over a wide range of meteorological conditions and modeling scenarios.

AERMOD includes two data preprocessors for streamlining data input. AERMET, a meteorological preprocessor, computes boundary layer and other necessary parameters for use with AERMOD and accepts data from both on-site and off-site sources. AERMAP is a terrain preprocessor that simplifies the computation of receptor elevations and effective height scales for numerous types of digital data formats, including USGS 1 Degree and 7.5 minute digital elevation model (DEM) files and U.K. Ordnance Survey® digital elevation data.

The Industrial Source Complex (ISC) short-term model predicts pollutant concentrations from nearly any type of source emitting non-reactive pollutants. It allows you to define receptor grids and consider topographical features for each receptor location. You are also able to input above ground-level heights to simulate the impact at elevated or “flagpole” receptors.
BREEZE AERMOD GIS Pro 6.0

BREEZE AERMOD GIS Pro users are about to experience a new level of performance with the release of Version 6.0.  The following are some highlights:

Click here to view some of the new features.

·         BREEZE News Display – This is an all new display view that provides users with timely news regarding product updates and other important information.  Users can, in a single glance, confirm that they have the latest BREEZE and EPA versions of all models and utilities installed.  An option is available to be notified when new information is available.

·         New Tabbed Window Display – Version 6.0 introduces a new, efficient method of viewing the various display windows though Display Tabs.  Each tab shows the entire display and drop down list menus associated with that display.  This makes it easier to find the tools and options you are looking for.

·         Object Array Generator – This new feature allows modelers to create many model objects that have the same characteristics but at different locations all at once.  Source, receptors, and buildings can be created using this tool.

·         New Reporting Options – Reports can now be customized to include only the data and graphics you want to display.  Results from model runs are extracted and displayed in the reports automatically.

·         Improved base map association - enables auto import of images from Terra Server.  There are additional features that help in changing an imported image’s location.

·         Sequential Data Entry – Replaces the Wizard and guides the user through model setup.

·         Projections – enable entering of mapping features and converts coordinate systems

·         Source options – flexibility in source entry methods including use of filters and variable emission rates

·         Output tabs – display output in user specified formats including averaging periods

·         Model Object Grouping – Tools to assign emission rates and other parameters to multiple model objects without having to enter data multiple times.
